Who Would Have Known?

Our construction team has arrived to the job site. Smiles of welcome greet us. Our presence has been clearly anticipated.
       Who would have known?
Our hands busily conduct our various tasks. Eyes filled with awe and wonder stare.
       Who would have known?
During some down time a team member juggles for a group of children. Their giggles and smiles express their delight.
         Who would have known?
We sing to the m and despite the language barriers their “amens” declare that they have been touched.
         Who would have known?
The team visits the sick, unsaved, and hurting. The forthcoming humble and thankful looks say “mesi” –“thank you”.
         Who would have known?
The time has come to say goodbye. The pastor says there aren’t words to express the thanks they feel.
         Who would have known?
Who would have known that a kind work, helpful deed, or a loving gift could be so greatly magnified by our Lord?
         Not I.                                                                                    - Tess Gutwein
