Ps 18:30-33
As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God? It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.  He maketh my feet like hinds' feet, and setteth me upon my high places.

God Answers Our Prayer
We made our first trip back to Riley on Monday for a "Sleep Test" on Brett. Basically it is a 3 hour test to see how he reacts to different levels of oxygen, and also to monitor his breathing. We really don't know anything from the test until the Pulmonary Doctor looks at the test and relays any findings to us. He has been on one liter of oxygen, which we are told is not much. During the sleep test he was still doing well at 1/8th of a liter. We will continue to keep Brett on oxygen until further notice. We trust that as he continues to grow, his need for oxygen will wane, but only time will tell. The Lord worked it out that we could meet with one of the genetist while we were waiting at the hospital for Brett. She had just received the report from the high resolution chromosome test and was planning to call us. We were thankful that the report showed that the deletion in the chromosome was not in the "critical area". What this means to us is that Brett's future will not be as severe as it could have been if the break would have been in the critical zone. Only God knows what Brett's future will be. Again we are called to trust Him daily and wait upon Him as He gives us the strength to take care of him day by day. We sure feel inadequate, but are at peace with "learning" what God wants us to learn through all of this. We truly desire to be more fit for the Kingdom...and we know the trials of this live will do just that.

Continued Growth
Saturday the 17th was bath day and "weigh in" day for Brett. We were so excited to find that he was 5lb. and 12oz, a gain of 7oz. in 5 days. Once a week we also take out his feeding tube and clean it. Thankfully the re-insertion went smoothly. He cries when the tube is going in, but quits as soon as it is in. He does have a cough right now and we are trusting that he will be able to overcome it on his own. We continue to offer Brett the bottle several times per day. There have not been any major advancements, but we trust that in time as he gets stronger, his sucking will improve. He is beginning to sleep longer in between feedings which is a big plus for mama.

Thanks Again and Again...
To all that are praying and caring about our little bundle, we just can't say thanks enough. This outpouring of love is truly humbling. As we draw closer to the celebration of the birth of our Savior, may we all ponder quietly this glorious event and what it means to humanity. Without the hope of heaven through our Lord Jesus, life would truly be hard to live, especially when things go "wrong". May this season be a special treasure to each one of you. We love each of you so much.

Warmly and humbly in His Care, Jan, Val and family
