Hi everyone. It feels like it is time for another update on Brett. I know many of you have asked some of our family, “how’s Brett doing”? It is always humbling to me to hear about the concern and care “God’s People” have for the “special ones”. As I write Joel and Brett are on the floor together. They are both aware of each other and a little bit ago Joel was babbling to Brett. Every now and then Brett reaches out and touches Joel. Joel fixes his eyes on Brett and coos. It is heart-warming! They will be good buddies someday.
Brett has been as healthy as ever since recouping from his last hospital stay. He’s been rolling all over the place. Several times a day we have to drag him out from under the couch as you can see in the picture. He continues to grow in his interaction skills with people and toys. Often if you lay down beside him on the floor he’ll stick his right thumb in his mouth to chew and then reach out to touch you with his left hand.

In the next few weeks, Urika his PT in Haiti, will be living nearby for a couple of weeks. She wants to spend time with Brett as much as she can. It is her vacation time and yet she’s expressed a desire to work with Brett. He pretty much hates therapy and won't tolerate much with me or her. But we’ll push him and she’ll give me new things to do with him. Lately she told me to pull him up to a crawling position using a towel under his arms. He works on being on his knees and then putting some weight on his hands. He usually lifts his head good for awhile during this exercise.
