Subject: Brett Update June 13

Just wanted to do a quick update on Brett and ask for prayer. Yesterday Brett stopped breathing and began turning gray and blue. He had a fever in the am and had not really been himself since Sunday. He began breathing again on the way to the clinic to meet the American Dr that is here right now. After speaking with our Developmental Pediatrician at Riley, we believe Brett had a seizure that was brought on by the fever, although the fever was low-grade. He is now on a medicine to control seizure activity, as well as antibiotics. There is the possibility he is in the early stages of pneumonia, but it difficult to diagnosis this down here. Today Brett continues to act like he is not feeling well, which means his is whinny and restless.

Last night as a family we talked about what had occurred. There were many tears as we all realized Brett could have been taken from us. We all expressed our love for the little guy and how much he is a part of our lives, although there continues to be little feedback from him to us. It made me think this morning about how much God loves the unresponsive people that He wants to be with Him in Heaven. He continues to draw them and care for them and love them, even without a response. For us, this is the closest we've seen death. It does something to you! Pray that we can stay strong through these times, as we face the possibility of more seizures. Pray for us that we can all give Brett hugs and kisses and "time" as we don't know when God may call him home. We love you all and thank you in advance for your prayers for Brett's health.
